More about LED tubes
An LED tube replaces the classic fluorescent tube in an existing fixture: same G13 socket, same length, but a fraction of the consumption and no more flickering or warming up. We carry four T8 tubes in 120 and 150 cm, all four with 5 years of warranty. The difference is in the wattage and in how much you want to be able to set yourself.
Adjustable: one tube for the whole building
The 120 cm CCT tube and the 150 cm CCT tube have two switches on the tube itself: one for the wattage and one for the colour temperature. At 120 cm you choose 12, 15 or 18 watts, at 150 cm 18, 20 or 25 watts, and in both cases 3000K, 4000K or 6000K. So you do not have to decide in advance what a room needs, and with one type in stock you cover a whole building. At the highest setting they give 2700 and 3625 lumens, at 145 to 150 lumens per watt the most efficient tubes we carry.
High Lumen: fixed wattage, IP22
The 120 cm High Lumen (20 watts, 2400 lumens) and the 150 cm High Lumen (25 watts, 3500 lumens) are simpler: one fixed wattage, and you choose the colour temperature when ordering from 3000K, 4000K, 5000K or 6000K. They have IP22 instead of IP20 and therefore cope with a damper environment, such as a garage, shed or stable.
What you are replacing
An 18 watt LED tube replaces a classic 36 watt fluorescent, the 25 watt version a 50 watt fluorescent. The light is at full strength immediately and the expected lifespan is 50,000 burning hours. Note: our tubes run on mains voltage. The ballast and the starter of the old fixture have to come out; the tube is then connected directly to 230V.
Also called an LED fluorescent lamp or T8 LED
An LED tube is also known as an LED fluorescent lamp, T8 LED tube or LED replacement tube. In Dutch: LED TL buis or T8 LED buis. T8 refers to the diameter of 26 mm, G13 to the socket with two pins.
Frequently asked questions
Will an LED tube fit my old fixture?
Yes, if it is a T8 fixture with a G13 socket, and by far the most are. The length has to match: 120 cm or 150 cm. You take out the ballast and the starter and bridge them, then connect the tube directly to 230V.
Can I leave the ballast in place?
No. Our tubes are made for mains voltage without a ballast. Leave the ballast in and the tube will not work or will fail. If you are not sure how your fixture is wired, have an electrician do it.
Which colour temperature should I choose?
3000K is warm white for a living space or hospitality, 4000K neutral white for an office, workshop and garage, 6000K daylight for a warehouse or rooms where you want maximum contrast. On the CCT tubes you switch this on the tube itself; on the High Lumen tubes you choose it when ordering.
What is the difference between 120 cm and 150 cm?
Only the length and the matching wattage. The tube has to be as long as the one that was in there, because the G13 holders sit at a fixed distance. So measure the old tube before ordering: 1210 mm is 120 cm, 1500 to 1512 mm is 150 cm.
Are LED tubes dimmable?
No, these four tubes are not dimmable. If you want to be able to adjust the light level, choose the CCT tube: there you set the wattage in three steps on the tube itself.
